Smooth Wrinkles with a Touch of Honey

We all dread that moment when we see the first wrinkle on our face. It’s a sign that we have reached the inevitable aging process. Men might accept the fact that they’re aging gracefully, but for women, wrinkles are one of their worst enemies. Most women are trying to fight a losing battle to stay looking young, no matter their age. While after you’ve turned 30 years old or more wrinkles are a natural thing, there are ways to slow down the appearance of the aging process without artificial beauty products.

Other factors contributing to wrinkles

Aging is a natural process. And while we can’t stop it, we can slow it down. But aging is not the only factor that contributes to wrinkles. As we get older, our skin loses its flexibility and elasticity and doesn’t spring back as it once did. Then there are the environmental factors.

  • Exposure to UV light vastly increases the chances of wrinkles appearing at a young age. Sunbathing, tanning booths and some outdoor sports that require too much sun exposure can be just as harmful as they are beneficial.
  • Regular smoking also accelerates the process of wrinkles appearing on our face. Smoking reduces the oxygen-rich blood supply to the skin.
  • Alcohol is another factor you should consider, as it dehydrates the skin, and our skin therefore becomes more prone to wrinkles.
  • Sleeping with your face squished onto the pillow also speeds up the wrinkling process.
  • Facial expressions are often a factor. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t smile and not make facial expressions. But with time, these expressions become part of our face line.

How can honey help?

People spend billions of dollars annually on wrinkle treatments. The cosmetic industry is a multi-billion dollar industry because people want to find a quick fix not only for wrinkles, but also for cellulite, weight loss and other body-related conditions. Some therapies cost a great deal of money, yet provide little to no results. If you want to keep your wallet full and your face wrinkle-free, honey is your best investment. Here are some ways you can use honey to treat wrinkles.
