Most of us don’t remember how some of our favorite celebrities looked when they were young. For those of you, like me, who are too young to remember the 60’s and the 70’s, we can thank the internet where everything stays forever. Take it as a warning, when a picture of you goes online, it will stay there when you are old and wrinkled. And while you think what pictures have you posted online, let’s take a look at some of the old photos of our favorite celebrities.
1. Twiggy with her boyfriend and manager Justin de Villeneuve in 1966
Twiggy and Justin were extremely close in the 60’s. But the stories differ, in a way that Twiggy claims he had no huge role in her success. Justin, on the other hand, think he is the one who discovered the model that will go on to be the face of fashion in the 60’s and 70’s.
2. Serge Gainsbourg, Jane Birkin, Charlotte (Gainsbourg) and Kate (Barry) in Saint Tropez
The relationship between Jane and Serge resulted in one of the most famous handbags of all time. The “Birkin” by Hermes now sales for more than hundreds of thousands of dollars. And if you though you need money to buy it, think again. You need a little more. The Birkin bag is available only for select few people, and you need to order it. The list of waiting is long, and chances are you’ll wait one or two years before you get it.

We all know Peter as the serious guy, the Chief Inspector Clouseau in the Pink Panther series. But suffice to say, he had a funny side in him, and we see it perfectly captured here.

The picture perfectly sums the early character of John Travolta, back in the days when he was making a name for himself dancing in movies. His laid back character, hippy lifestyle is perfectly captured. The movies like Saturday Night Fever and Staying Alive came later.

Ike and Tina were the IT couple. They were once considered one of the “hottest and most durable duos” in Hollywood. Sadly, that wasn’t true as we learned later. Ike did discover Tina, but his violent behavior was too much for the singer to handle. She left him and became even more famous.

Brigitte was one of the hottest actresses in the 70’s. A french blonde, she had everything: body, charisma, smile, and everything in between. As a French girl, she was seen quite often in St. Tropez. This rare erotic picture of her is one of the best.
7. Sean Connery and Brigitte Bardot on the set of Shalako, 1968
Shalako is one of the best Western movies, and the talent of the two iconic actors had a lot to do with it. There were rumors back then that the two are dating, but neither of them confirmed the rumors.

Who can imagine Marlon Brando smiling in the Godfather? Nobody! His role was to be this serious, vicious and rightful mob boss. But on the set, Marlon was a delight to work with, and he was always smiling and having fun.

We’ve seen countless of pictures of Yoko and John Lennon. Many blame Yoko as the reason for the disband of the Beetles. But whose to say love doesn’t triumph all? Yoko and John had so much fun together, and you can see them goofing around.

Buster Keaton was a hero for Bowie. The singer adored the writer, and constantly spoke of him as an idol and guiding hand in his life. This picture, in particular, was revealed after Bowie’s death, as Schapiro looked into his collection.

Young Dustin Hoffman was a catch, in every sense of the word. The two have divorced, but who can say there weren’t flames in the air? She is known as Mrs. Hoffman for a reason, but her life is quite secret. Always has, and always will be.
12. Gregory Peck rides a skateboard, c. 1960s
Peck was one of the most successful and famous actors of the 40’s and the 50’s. He continued doing movies up until the late 60’s. He has been nominated for Academy Award five times, and won one.
13. Mohammad Ali with a Monopoly board
The greatest boxer, and possibly athlete of all times passed away recently. We know he always wanted to be the best, so the question is, whether he was the best in monopoly as well? At least we know he had a fun side in him, one that was rarely revealed in the public. In public, he was all down to business, serious man who made a stand for what he believed in.
14. Barbra Streisand in a photoshoot
Twiggy was the poster child of fashion world in the 60’s, but Barbra was the poster woman of Hollywood. She was one of the hottest woman in Los Angeles, and you can see here why.
15. Steve McQueen on set of Le Mans, 1971
Steve was known as the poster child for counterculture. His anti-hero persona made him famous, and some even dubbed him the “King of cool”.
16. Roman Polanski, Hugh Hefner and Barbi Benton arriving in Paris august 21, 1970
Three legends on one picture. There is just too much epicness here. Hefner and Barbi were married at the time, and their marriage lasted for eight years.
17. Michael Jackson on skateboard
Who knows, maybe Jackson was using a skateboard for learning his moves. After all, the dance moves of the King of Pop will stay in our memory forever. The younger generation might remember him for all the child abuse scandals, but those born in the 80’s and before won’t ever forget his greatness.
18. Janis Joplin’s arrest photo, Tampa 1969
Janis was arrested for using “vulgar” and “indecent” language during her performance in Tampa. But we know she was a fighter, and had no troubles speaking her mind and voicing her opinion. After all, her revolutionary style made her famous. She was released shortly after, and walked out of the police station with her attorney.
19. Édith Piaf and Mikis Theodorakis, Paris, 1963
These two made few songs together. A legendary duo, one from Greece, and the other from France. They met when Mikis was studying in Paris, and hit it off.

The photo was taken shortly before Chaplin’s death in December 1977. Daniel was known as the “paparazzi of Paris”, and he is responsible for quite the few iconic photos of celebrities.

Brasserie Lipp was one of the iconic coffee shops in Paris, it is no surprise that Jackie Kennedy wanted to visit with her entourage.
22. Sophia Loren And Carlo Ponti in Paris 1975
One of the first “tall lady, short men” marriages in Hollywood, you can that Sophia Lauren would not be as famous without the help of Carlo. Ponti was the man who discovered the actress, and helped her achieve international stardom. He has made more than 140 movies in his career, and Sophia is main role in many of them.

One of the lesser known movies of Robert Redford. The song of the movie was nominated for Golden Globes, and was written by Johnny Cash.
24. Mia Farrow and Roman Polanski Behind the scenes of Rosemary’s Baby,1968
Mia and Roman have stayed friends, despite Polanski facing some scrutiny due to raping underage girls back in the days. Farrow has testified in his behalf, and has never said one bad word about Roman.

The two were lovers in 1968, and the next year, they released an album featuring individual songs and duets. We said before that their friendship resulted in one of the most iconic handbags of all time, the Birkin.
26. David McCallum, Janet Leigh and Robert Vaughn on the set of The Spy in the Green Hat, 1966
The Spy in the Green Hat is one of the iconic movies of the 60’s, despite not having much success. It was a full length film version of “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.”, a TV series broadcasted in the United States. The Spy in the Green Hat is the third movie made from the series.
27. Cary Grant heads out to a restaurant, 1966
Grant was one of the first leading men in Hollywood. An English-American actor, he rose to stardom in the 40’s and 50’s with his accent and charm.

The duo that made horror movies popular. Hitchcock was the “Master of suspense’, the one that introduced suspense in thriller movies. What many people don’t know is that Alma was his biggest critic and support, and he always consulted her. The two were married for more than 50 years.
29. Sir Christopher Lee in Paris with family,around 1967
Sir Christopher Lee had a career spanning over 70 years in Hollywood. With iconic roles as Count Dracula, Lee became famous in Hollywood. Aside from Dracula, Christopher was part of two other iconic franchises, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.

We said Daniel Angeli was known as “the king of paparazzi in Paris”, making him one of the few eligible to capture an iconic photo like this one. Three of the most influential and powerful monarchs in one picture is hard to top.

The friendship between Keith Richards and Mick Jagger is nowadays known as one of “the longest and best bromances”. They were the pillars of Rolling Stones, arguably one of the most successful rock bands of all time.

Polanski and Nicholson were friends for a long time. Fun fact, the incident with a 13-year old girl that Polanski admitted happened in Jack’s house. Here, the two are skiing together.

Between these five, they have more than 20 Grammy Awards, and all of them have received the Grammy lifetime achievement award.

Brit was a very successful and popular actress in the 60’s and 70’s. She is mostly known for her appearance in “The Night they Raided Minky’s, a film about striptease and burlesque.

These two started in several movies together, with French movie scene naming them one of the most successful duos on screen.
