Fan favourite and top prospect Zabit Magomedsharipov preserved his unbeaten record after scoring a big win against sixth-ranked Jeremy Stephens in the final bout of UFC 235’s preliminary card.
The Russian mixed martial artist looked for the finish but couldn’t get it in a nailbiting three-round encounter, but still managed to seal the win, dominating his opponent in all scorecards to stretch his unbeaten run to six.
Magomedsharipov and Stephens tussled in a featherweight fight in the star-studded and talent-heavy UFC 235 card at the T-mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Saturday night.
This showdown was one of the most anticipated fights in the line-up and the pair did not disappoint.

The Russian sensation turned to his kicking prowess to get into the driver seat in the opening round. He immediately targeted Stephens’ leg with a kick early at the onset before landing a tornado kick and a leaping kick off the cage, much to the delight of the crowd.
Magomedsharipov continued to dictate the pace even in a more tensed second and third rounds. The pair exchanged blows and no one was able to deliver the finishing touches. But it was the less-experienced Magomedsharipov who came out with the win.

Ringside judges all scored 29-28 in favour of the Russian, giving him his sixth straight victory under the Nevada-based promotion since making his debut in 2017.
Zabit, who is often called ‘Za-Beast’ by his American fans, has claimed that he will be targeting the title next after this clash with the 14-year veteran.
With the win, Magomedsharipov has joined an elite club of fighters including Conor McGregor, Yair Rodriguez, and Jose Aldo, who recorded a 5-0 start in their UFC career as featherweights.
