The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) produced the biggest cards this year at UFC 226, which took place last Saturday night (July 7, 2018) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In the recent pay-per-view event, Daniel Cormier shocked the UFC world when he knocked out Miocic in the first round of the main event.
As a result, Cormier is now officially the second fighter in the history of UFC to hold two belts simultaneously. Along with Conor Mcgregor, the two men are now the only UFC fighters included in the prestigious group.
Before his UFC 226 fight against former heavyweight titleholder Stipe Miocic, he was always viewed as an ‘underdog’ in MMA. Now, UFC President Dana White thinks DC was underestimated for a long time, and this recent victory should earn him more than the title itself.
Miocic Humbly Accepted Defeat
Although Miocic lost his three-time defended belt in a snap, the former UFC Heavyweight champ humbly accepted his loss. Right after the fight, he said “What happened?” and his team couldn’t answer as they were shocked as well.
Miocic’s next words genuinely show that he’s a real champ even though he didn’t win. He said, “Tonight wasn’t my night.” However, he posted on his Twitter account, expressing that he will reclaim his title again.
Now, everyone is highly anticipating for a rematch between the two UFC fighters before Cormier retires in March 2019,
