With the triumphant safeguard of his unblemished record, many are aiming for the No.1 lightweight contender. Khabib hosted a press conference this week where he stated the rumoured boxing match with Floyd Mayweather was ‘in the works.’



“You’re a good guy and you deserve a big fight. You should fight Conor or Nate or Gaethje or GSP. I’m a big fan and love watching you fight but you’re one of the easiest fights in the top 5 stylistically for the eagle.”

Despite this, there is no way the Californian fighter is bowing out of his strife for the UFC gold. He called out Khabib in a more savage fashion, saying:

“Tried To Be Nice But You’re Still My B*tch @TeamKhabib Check It Out… You Couldn’t Box Your Way Out Of A Paper Bag. I See You & The Team Working On That Footwork.”

A fight between ‘The Eagle’ and ‘El Cucuy’ has been scheduled four times now, but the pair hasn’t still met each other inside the famed Octagon. Let’s see if fifth time’s a charm for the would-be matchup.
