Lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is showing no signs of slowing down after going into an all-out war with Deontay Wilder last month.
The British boxer is going an extra mile in his training for his potential rematch with the current WBC heavyweight champion as a video of him sparring with his trainer Ben Davison surfaced online yesterday, showing his early preparation for his next encounter with the “Bronze Bomber.”
“I Won The Fight”
In case you are living under the rocks, Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder tussled at the Staples Center last month in what many called the “boxing fight of 2018.” The 30-year-old Briton, who was considered as the underdog going into this bout, was on the brink of pulling off a stunning upset but Wilder showed up in the closing stages.
The lineal heavyweight champion was in full control the majority of the match but suffered two knockdowns in the ninth and twelfth rounds respectively. Wilder landed a powerful combo in the final round, which sent the challenger to the mat motionless.
In, what could be, the biggest highlight of the fight, ‘The Gypsy King’ stunned the boxing world when he came back from the dead (like The Undertaker), following the vicious knockdown in the twelfth round. Wilder thought the fight was already over until Fury rose from the ashes and proceeded to finish the fight.
Boxing fans and pundits alike cried in unison that the victory should be awarded to the British boxer after dominating the American champ in nine to ten rounds. Fury echoed the same sentiment in the post-fight presser but refused to complain about the result.
“The world knows the truth, I thought I won the fight, and I should have gone home with that belt, but we’re on away soil so God bless his team, God bless America.”
With the pair’s first fight ending in controversy, both boxers believed that there is an unfinished business to settle. Fury and Wilder have expressed their interest for a rematch.
Meanwhile, boxing promoter Frank Warren confirmed that the “Gypsy King” could be starring in a pair of mega fights in the first half of 2019. One of this bouts is, of course, the rematch with Wilder, with Warren claiming that negotiations between the two camps are now ongoing.
Nothing is cast in stone yet but Fury is already preparing for what could be another barnburner affair with the American champ. In a video uploaded by BT Sport on Twitter, “The Gypsy King” was seen throwing punches with his trainer, Ben Davison. Fury showed off his speed and power in his recent training, but more importantly, he looks like he is in his best shape ever.

As of early December, The Gypsy King’ is billed as the slight favourite to win the rematch by the oddsmakers at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook.
