It was undoubtedly the most iconic moment in heavyweight boxing this year…

Heavyweights Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury went to war in Los Angeles, California last night. It was an absolutely crazy fight with Tyson Fury looking like he was knocked out in the twelfth round. Unfortunately, some controversial scoring ended the evening in a draw…

Reigning WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and lineal/former WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO champ Tyson Fury slugged it out last night. In front of a hyped crowd in the Staples Centre, Los Angeles, Wilder and Fury put on an all-time classic war. The end result will no doubt be debated for years to come.

After boxing circles around Wilder, “Gypsy King” Tyson Fury was clipped with a right hand in round 9. As he went to the canvas, fans started to see a possible change in the tide. Fury recovered well, boxing his way through to the final round, arguably winning the percentage of the fight to that point.

Fury: “America should get behind Deontay Wilder, he’s 40 with loads of knockouts. You should support him, he is your man, he should be among the biggest stars in America. I am a fighting man, I went to Germany to fight Klitschko, I went to America to fight Wilder. All the big fights must happen in 2019.”

Warren: “Everyone said (Fury) won the fight. He is the number one heavyweight, these two guys had the courage to step up against each other. (Fury) is the winner of this fight. Anthony Joshua has got to go and prove himself.”
