UFC’s newest interim welterweight champion Colby Covington has got on reigning champion Tyron Woodley’s nerves. The triggered fighter is now promising to destroy Convington’s career. Apparently, Jon Jones is backing Woodley and he’s willing to help him train for his fight against Covington.
Covington’s trash-talking card triggered Woodley’s defensive badge
Over his recent victory, Colby Covington sees to it that he will take his trash-talking card to a higher level. He’s picking up where cocky fighters like Conor McGregor and Chael Sonnen left off.
The vain fighter now holds a quite vicious reputation in the mixed-martial arts arena. Despite his polarizing statements, Covington still had it big when he seized the interim welterweight belt with a unanimous decision victory over Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 225 over the weekend.
Covington’s post-fight statement earned the reigning champ’s heated response. Woodley made sure that the smack-talking combatant gets his fair share of bad mouth.
On his fresh statement, Woodley revealed that former roommate to Colby Covington and former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones backing him up. He said he is willing to help him prepare for his Covington fight.
Woodley said, “I’ve never had so many people want to help me whoop some ass.”
“Jon Jones hit me up. He doesn’t ever hit me up. Jon hit me up and said, ‘hey whatever you need, bra, I got you.'”
Woodley also didn’t forget to express his deep rage against Covington well enough.
“Never in my life have I wanted to end somebody’s career so bad…”
