While Tyron Woodley is calling for an immediate rematch against Kamaru Usman and Robbie Lawler is being linked to a second fight vs Ben Askren, it was Woodley and Lawler who were scheduled to the second instalment of their welterweight rivalry.
The former UFC welterweight titlists are set to run it back in June to headline UFC on ESPN 4 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. ‘Ruthless’ lost his title to ‘The Chosen One’ via a first-round knockout on their initial showdown in 2016.

Meanwhile, Lawler suffered his second simultaneous loss after his decision upset over Rafael Dos Anjos in 2017 was followed with a submission defeat to ‘Funky’ Askren at UFC 235.

However, referee Herb Dean waved the fight off at the 3:20 mark of the first round after the unbeaten welterweight contender went for a bulldog choke, leading to a controversial technical submission win in favour of Askren.
Woodley vs Lawler 2
Now, Woodley vs Lawler 2 is officially happening for the main event of UFC on ESPN 4 on June 29 at Target Center in Minneapolis.
According to reports, the UFC’s second-ranked welterweight fighter and its ninth-ranked contender agreed to fight for the second time around this summer.
It was a relatively quick return for the fighting pair who both lost their bouts under the same card on March 3. On their first Octagon showdown at UFC 201 in July 2016, Woodley stopped Lawler in just over two minutes to snatch the 170-pound title.
