Mixed martial arts fans from the Twitter-verse gave the current UFC heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier, a doze of his own medicine after he brought up the issue of steroid use, following Jones’ successful stint at UFC 232.
DC immediately took to Twitter and mocked his long-time rival after reclaiming the UFC light heavyweight strap in the main event of the promotion’s final offering for 2018. But fans were having none of his social media antics as they quickly hit back on the former two-division champion.

“Bones” passed his return fight with flying colours as he dismantled Alexander Gustafsson for the second time en route to recapturing the UFC light heavyweight belt. Despite the controversy surrounding him, Jones showed up composed and collected to finish “The Mauler” in just the third round of their rematch.
The 31-year old fighter did not show any signs of rust despite a 17-month layoff and was in full control of the match from start to finish. Jones brought his ground game in the third, giving his opponent a solid beating, which forced the ref to call off the fight.
It was a sweet victory for the returning mixed martial artist, capping a long week of controversy with a belt on his waist. Days before his highly-anticipated comeback, he tested positive on a small trace of Turinabol, the same substance he used in a doping violation a year ago.
His rival, more like one of his staunch critics, Daniel Cormier, quickly brought up Jones’ past on his post-UFC 232 reactions, much to the dismay of many MMA fans. He said that Jones has always had a head start, along with hashtags “USADA Fake” and “Jonny Brasco.”

Meanwhile, Jones has also some words for his long-time rival after his successful UFC 232 outing.
“I know there’s a guy who’s been calling himself ‘champ champ’ I mean, what guy just gives up his belt because somebody else made it home? Daddy’s home, DC. Prove to the fans you’re a ‘champ champ’. Come get a taste, I’m here. Get your belt back. I’ll be waiting right here.”
