Twitter Reacts To Daniel Cormier Stoppage Of Derrick Lewis At UFC 230

Too easy for DC!

Reigning champion Daniel Cormier lived up to expectations as he made a successful title defense against challenger Derrick Lewis in the main event of UFC 230, Saturday night at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

Quick Work

After an impressive come-from-behind victory over Alexander Volkov at the UFC 229, ‘The Black Beast’ earned the shot to face the double champion for the heavyweight title. Many fans billed this match up as ‘one of the easiest fights for Cormier’ and as expected, DC proved to be too much to handle for his challenger.

The 39-year old mixed martial artist came off to a rousing start as he quickly took Lewis down early in the first round. He then launched a flurry of punches as he pounded his opponent on the ground, taking full control of the fight. DC locked in a rear-naked choke in the second frame, which forced Lewis to tap out, to become the first fighter to submit the 33-year old heavyweight contender.

Here are some of the best reactions from the Twitter-verse on Cormier’s dominant win over ‘The Black Beast.’

Some fans took a swipe on Lewis.

While others sang praises for Cormier who made yet another history tonight.
