‘El Cucuy’ might be getting his wish as White told Guerrilla Cross Radio that his next bout could be for the undisputed championship against the eventual winner between Khabib and Dustin, who will unify the titles this September.
“Khabib is fighting Dustin Poirier in Abu Dhabi in September,” White said, (transcript from MMA Junkie).
“Then I don’t know, we’ll see. Tony Ferguson just came off a great win this weekend over ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, and I’m assuming he’s next.”
Though the UFC head honcho is giving McGregor ample time to finalize his return, he is aware that he may have a hard time luring the Irishman to a fight deal.
“We’ll see what happens with Conor – what Conor wants to do.”
“Conor is super rich. It’s hard to get guys to fight when they’re super rich.”
