Aside from the Austin 3:16 shirt, you cannot get Stone Cold’s image away from a can of beer.
The WWE superstar is an icon of professional wrestling who’s known for either handing a ‘Stone Cold’ stunner to his boss, driving a zamboni into the arena, wearing an Austin 3:16 shirt or — chugging cans of beer inside the ring.
No, Stone Cold isn’t an ordinary guzzler. He can singlehandedly slosh one, two or sometimes three or four cans of beer at once. The WWE’s quintessential hell-raiser drinks on live shows and fans go gaga over it.
Now, the retired wrestler is reportedly taking a volte-face, knocking alcohol on the head at 53. Austin revealed he hasn’t had a beer for two weeks now.
Talking on The Steve Austin Show, Stone Cold detailed his newest health regime and how he’s able to cope up with it:
“My eating program is going fantastic. I’m sticking to my exact macros. Zero alcohol for right at 14 days now. Pounds are coming off. My strength is going up. Jesus Christ, I’m getting as strong as a goddamn horse over here.”
“No alcohol and when you hit the weights on a consistent basis and eat what you’re supposed to, it is amazing the difference that you can make or I’m making.”
“I’m also doing my DDP Yoga shit. Hell, I’m going to jump up here and do the splits like a god-dang cheerleader in a minute! I’m flexible as a mother-fucker. Dallas’ program works like a bitch. I appreciate it, Dallas. I appreciate it, man. That’s a badass program. I’m sticking to it!”
Despite steering away from alcohol, Austin admitted he had previously used medical marijuana to help ease the pain from the injuries he picked up while wrestling, as well as hoping it would soothe his thirst for a bottle of beer.
However, smoking pot didn’t work for him as we wished and says it just left him feeling paranoid.
“I’m thinking, ‘man, here I am, retired from the wrestling business, a global icon and a national treasure, and I’m about to get busted for fucking one joint because I wanted to try out a god damn marijuana cigarette, so I could get away from the booze.'”
