Have you heard of a cat bringing a dead mouse for its owners? This sheepdog puppy herds an entire flock of sheep into his owner’s kitchen to impress them!
A seven-month-old Border Collie under training tried to impress his owners by helping them with their farm. Enthusiastically thinking that he’s about to make them happy with what he brought in, the owners’ jaw dropped in amusement and frustration.
Sheepdog puppy Rocky herd a whole flock of sheep inside his owner’s house, leading them to the kitchen. He got too excited about the new-found duty that he actually brought in nine sheep.
Owner Rosalyn Edwards was totally caught off guard. While she was busy working in the kitchen, she heard something making noise.
To her surprise, an entire flock were chilling in her hallway!
When You Just Want to Help But You End Up Making Things Worse
The 40-year-old mum-of-three from Devon shared how stunned she was to face a flock of the woollen animals just after she turned around.
“I was in the kitchen and heard a noise. I turned around and the sheep were just standing there. There were about nine of them,” said Ms Edwards.
“My son and husband had gone out into the field, and the gate was left open. Rocky got them out and led them to the house.”
Trying to Shoo the Flock Out
You can hear Rosalyn, who runs a smallholding with husband Andrew, 41, trying to shoo the sheep out of the house where they were never allowed in the first place.
But instead of letting them out at once, the flock meandered through the house, leaving muck on every spot they step foot in. They were almost in the living room!
“I took the children into another room and then tried to guide the sheep out. They went right around from the kitchen and left again through the porch,” Ms Edwards added.
The owner admitted seeing the funny side on what Rocky did, eagerly trying to help the family with their farm works. However, she was left with a lot of cleaning to do.
It Was Funny But Rocky Needs to Learn a Little Lesson
“Rocky did look quite pleased with himself, but he’s going to need more training,” she said.
“He brought a whole new meaning to ‘bringing the sheep home.”
“This is the first time he’s done something like this. He’s been out with the sheep before but this time the gate was open.”
“The kids thought it was quite funny, too.”
“Friends and family have all had the same sort of reaction. Everyone’s been saying they can’t believe they were in the house.”
Rocky Left Them With a Lot of Cleaning to Do
Since their flock are not used to living in the house with humans as pets do, you can’t expect them to behave appropriately.
“I thought it was funny at the time, but then there was quite a lot of wee, poo and mud everywhere.”
“It took me a little while to clean it all up.”
