Khabib’s Cousin Is Fighting For The UFC Tonight & He’s A Proper Beast

The Dagestani invasion of the UFC continues with Said Nurmagomedov. Fans of MMA will instantly recognize that surname…

Current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is well known in the MMA world. Not only is he among the elite of the sport, but he’s also proven to be quite outrageous after UFC 229.

Following his crazy brawl ignited by jumping on Conor McGregor’s team, Nurmagomedov was hit with a nine-moneth ban and $500K fine by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

BUT, there is still a Nurmagomedov taking to the UFC octagon tonight, in Brazil, at Fight Night 144. His name is Said, he is Khabib’s cousin, and he is a proper BEAST!

Said Nurmagomedov UFC Bantamweight

Unlike his cousin, Said Nurmagomedov has tasted defeat in his career, but only once. This is probably down to his very wild style of fighting.

Many fans have likened Said Nurmagomedov UFC bantamweight to UFC featherweight Zabit Magomedshapirov. His wild striking and flying techniques do leave him open to strikes, though.

Currently 12-1 as a professional, Said Nurmagomedov made his UFC debut in Boise, Idaho last July. Winning a narrow decision over Justin Scoggins.

Said fights Ricardo Ramos on the main card of UFC Fortaleza tonight on the prelims.

Speaking to MMAFighting.com, Said’s second UFC opponent feels he can submit the Dagestani:

When he first heard about his UFC Fortaleza opponent, Ramos thought his style would be similar to Khabib’s, “but he fights more on the feet and is very unpredictable”.

”I believe I will take his back and submit him,” Ramos said. “That’s an opening I saw in his fights. He gives up his back a lot and opens that possibility.

I saw many Brazilians fight him and have the opportunity to submit him but couldn’t get it done. He has good defense, too, but I’ve been working on my submissions a lot. I don’t waste opportunities.”
