Man Attempts To Rob Jiu Jitsu Student & Gets Arm Barred For 20 Minutes Straight

Another person has been added to the long list of “Stupid Criminals” as a female jiu-jitsu student from Manaus, Brazil, gave an 18-year old robber a retribution after he tried to steal her mobile phone.

Sabrina Leite, a white belter in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, wrestled the young theft on the ground before locking in an armbar for almost 20 minutes, leaving the guy screaming around in pain.

20 Minutes of Pain

Last Friday, the 22-year old Leite was standing in front of her house when two men riding a motorbike confronted her. These guys turned out to be thieves as they forced the lady to give them her mobile phone. Unluckily, the thieves picked a wrong target.

When an unnamed suspect got off the bike and asked for her phone, Sabrina turned to her martial arts skills to foil the robbery attempt. So instead of handing over her phone, she threw into her house, which gave the guy an instant scare. But that did not stop there as the jiu-jitsu student really wanted to give the guy a bitter reality check.

The suspect attempted to escape but Leite chased him down. When she got a hand on the young criminal, she quickly pinned him on the ground and trapped him on a nasty armbar. She then tightened the lock and did it for almost 20 minutes, enough for the authorities to arrive in the scene while the guy writhed in pain.

In an interview with a local media outfit, Leite recalled the experience and stressed that the absence of weapons forced her to fight back. But it could be the other way around if the criminals were armed.

“I could feel that they didn’t have anything (weapons), they just arrived scarily saying ‘pass the phone’. I saw they didn’t have anything and that’s why I reacted. If they had been armed I would never have reacted. He was running away. My neighbour went after him in the car and reached him. Then I ran and immobilised him with a sleeper hold, I lay on the ground and put him in an arm lock.”

The Brazilian jiu-jitsu student credited her martial art skills for this impressive triumph.

“It’s all a question of technique. I have been training for four years, I’m still a white belt. Ranking and belts don’t matter to me.

The 18-year old suspect was immediately arrested and will be transferred for a custody hearing while his partner in crime managed to escape.
