The Ultimate Fighting Championship has re-booked a middleweight clash featuring Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa for its pay-per-view event this August, multiple reports claimed.
The Nevada-based promotion first scheduled the middleweight pair last November for UFC 230, but the contest did not materialise as the Cuban sensation withdrew from the fight due to the injuries he sustained from his previous bout.
For a second shot at the Romero vs Costa fight, the pair was booked for UFC on ESPN+1, but this time, it was Costa who was ruled ineligible to fight also due to injury.
Romero and Costa were then slated to meet at UFC on ESPN 3 finally.
However, for the third time, the fight was scrapped as Costa has been flagged with an anti-doping violation by USADA, an issue that was first brought up by Romero in a previous interview at ESPN.
Despite these three straight failed attempts, the UFC would simply not give up on the two fighters.
They’ll finally settle it in Anaheim!!

Fourth Time’s The Charm?
According to multiple reports, both Romero and Costa have verbally agreed to fight at UFC 241, which will take place in Anaheim, California this August.
Abraham Kawa, who works as Romero’s manager, issued a statement about the reports and hopes that the middleweight fight will come to light this time.
Kawa also shared that Romero is in better shape right now as he aims to win the 185-pound championship.
“We’ve been offered this fight four times now,” Kawa told ESPN.
“We’ve now accepted it four times. We couldn’t fight all three previous times because Costa was suspended. We’re hoping there are no suspensions this time and we can actually fight.”
“Yoel is a man on a mission. He wants to win that belt. He is rejuvenated and feels better than ever.”
Costa, who was recently banned by USADA, has yet to comment on this matter.
The 41-year old Romero is currently holding a 9-2 win-loss record in the UFC.
He last fought in the cage in June of 2018, when he, along with middleweight champion Robert Whittaker, delivered a fight for the ages.
When the smoke cleared, Romero came up short in the scorecards and lost via split decision.
His most recent win was against Luke Rockhold at UFC 221.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian prospect, Costa, is looking to preserve his winning streak.
He has scored four straight wins since his promotional debut, with his first three victories won by way of technical knockout.
Costa earned the Performance of the Night honours at UFC 226 last July after finishing Uriah Hall in the second round of their fight.
Amid their feud last month, Costa vowed to make Romero pay when they meet in the Octagon.
Yoel Romero vs. Paulo Costa has been verbally agreed to for #UFC241 on Aug. 17 in Anaheim.
