Last weekend, RISE headed to the Ota-City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan for the first round of its highly-anticipated RISE World Series 2019.
The event featured 12 nailbiting fights, with the country’s kickboxing phenom Tenshin Nasukawa starring in the headlining act opposite Federico Roma.
All eyes were on the young but talented Japanese as he was looking to bounce back from a humiliating loss to boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. in their exhibition fight on New Year’s Eve at RIZIN 14.
Nasukawa delivered the goods and was far from his showing in his special rules boxing clash with “Money.”
He lived up to expectations and came out with another highlight reel knockout victory in the third round, much to the delight of the home fans.
But aside from the Tenshin providing the firework, another fighter in Suakim PK Saenchaimuaythaigym also brought in the big lights as he pulled off a stunning knockout of Thalisson Gomes Ferreira.
Tenshin Nasukawa returned to actions since his technical knockout loss to Floyd Mayweather at RIZIN 14. The Japanese phenom showed his monster form to win his first kickboxing bout in 2019 in style.
Nasukawa went for a dramatic pose before sending his opponent to the shadow realm with a cartwheel kick in the third round.
But he was not the only one of made heads turned in the card as Thailand’s Suakim PK Saenchaimuaythaigym went to an all-out war with Thalisson Gomes Ferreira.
It was seven minutes of beautiful and thrilling exchanges, with each fighter having their moment and scoring a knockdown.
The Thai fighter was sent to the floor in the second with a right hook but was able to beat the count and recover.
He then turned the tables around in the third by punishing Ferreira with brutal punches and kicks before finishing him with a teep kick to the body.

Both wins gave Nasukawa and Suakim a ticket to the semifinal round where they will face each other in an intriguing affair.
