It’s clearly understood if you’d be devastated after you lose in a fight. But retaliating and choking out the referee after your knockout?
I reckon it’s the rarest thing a fighter should do.
The referee might be mistaken as the ‘opponent’ of the fighter. Poor him, the referee never thought he would end up asking for someone’s help while laying and being choked on the cage’s ground.
It’s Not over for Nehm
A bout between the Star Fighter Ryse ‘Showtyme’ Brink (2-1-0) and Joe Nehm (1-2-0) happened in the MMA match in Grand Rapids, KOP 54 event, in Michigan. With the speed and power ‘Showtyme’ Brink had, Nehm got knocked out when the US fighter opened with a devastating barrage of punches at Knockout Promotions KOP 54.
The referee stepped in when Brink followed up a knee and a barrage of punches to Nehm. Brink peeled off to celebrate his brutal KO win within just seconds, but the fight was not over for Nehm.
Maybe ten seconds were way too fast for Nehm. He didn’t even get the chance to show off his skills.
Brink’s speed and strength are no joke. This might be the reason why Nehm went wild.
A Referee in a Chokehold
A disoriented Nehm attempted to retaliate after his loss. Unaware that the fight was over for him, Nehm ventured to execute a rear naked choke.
Whilst Brink was off the camera celebrating, instead of Nehm pulling off the brutal move on his opponent, the 36-year-old had accidentally turned to the referee.
Nehm in a zombie-like state quickly took the back of Referee Brandon Gallo and sunk in an RNC. In the shocking video below, Nehm’s team was seen rushing into the cage to pull him away.
