Pineapple Water: Why Drink It? How to Make It?


I’m sure most of you are familiar with lemon water. And I know most of you know that you need to drink 8oz of water per day (at least that’s the gold standard). Lemon water is arguably the best beverage you can get in the morning. But don’t underestimate pineapple water.

Pineapple might not be considered a super fruit like pomegranates, acai fruit, and blueberries, but it can hold its own ground in the health department. Pineapple provides lots of health benefits. You can choose to consume the amazingly delicious and sweet fruit on its own, or you can go the lemon water way. In the same way we consume lemon water in the morning, we can drink a glass of pineapple water for numerous health benefits.

How to make pineapple water

It sounds complicated, but it isn’t. Making pineapple water is as simple as cutting the fruit and tossing few pieces into a glass of water. Remember, you have to remove the skin first. You can also choose to prepare the pineapple water in bulk. For example, I prefer to prepare my pineapple water in the evening, just before I go to bed. I cut half a pineapple and add it to a bowl with 2 quarts of water. Put it in the fridge, and in the morning you have chilled water loaded with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Loaded with enzymes, pineapple water is better than lemon water mostly because of the taste. The sweet taste of the water is just what you want in the morning for an energy boost.

Like many fruits, pineapple is extremely rich in fiber and low in sugar. Yes, it packs lots of calories per fruit. But pineapple water eliminates that problem.
