Paulie Malignaggi vs. Artem Lobov Could Happen Under Bare Knuckle FC

Two years after sitting in his retirement, Paulie Malignaggi signs up with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship that recently included Artem Lobov in their roster as well. Now, President Dave Feldman says a match between these fighters “could make a lot of sense.”

In a press release on Thursday, the bare-knuckle fighting promotion announced the newest addition to their lineup: former boxing champion Malignaggi.

Back in Action

“BKFC is the new wave in combat sports. They’re doing great things and I’m very excited to be a part of this organization,”  Malignaggi said in a statement, per the release.

“I’ve accomplished some big things in boxing career, and I look forward to what this next phase brings. After a long boxing career, it’s easy to miss the limelight and the rush that combat brings.”

“I look forward to getting back in action and the new challenge of fighting for BKFC,” ‘Magic Man’ continued.

Malignaggi’s name made to news headlines anew after his online feud against McGregor in 2017 extended until the present. In January, reports said the former two-division MMA champion is negotiating a grudge match against the former two-division boxing champ in a ‘winner takes all’ fight.

However, the rumoured match obviously did not materialise up to this date.

Perfect Fit

Interestingly, Lobov who’s McGregor’s long-time friend and training partner has also recently-signed with BKFC and is scheduled to fight UFC veteran Jason Knight on April 20 in Biloxi, Miss.

According to an NBC Sports Radio report from Helen Yee, could well fight MMA’s “GOAT” Artem Lobov, should Lobov beat Jason Knight in his April debut.

Feldman, though has not yet confirmed the match, revealed that the rivalry “could make a lot of sense” via an MMA Fighting article.

“This is a great signing for Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship,” Feldman said of Malignaggi in the release.

“At this time in our company’s growth, we needed to add a legitimate and well-established world champion boxer to our roster, and I believe with Paulie’s ability and personality we’ve done just that.”

“Paulie is the perfect fit for us,” the BKFC boss concluded.
