It turns out Paul Felder’s collapsed lung during UFC Phoenix did not heal on its own so the ‘Irish Dragon’ was forced to undergo surgery at a local hospital in the city.
Felder has an attitude of enduring injuries and health issues mid-fight. The 33-year-old welterweight earned the MMA community’s respect after continuing his match against Mike Perry at UFC 226 despite a gruesome injury and now fighting James Vick with a collapsed lung.

At the moment, Felder staying in a hospital in Arizona to recover from surgery repairing his collapsed lung. The native of Pennsylvania delivered a unanimous decision win over James Vick in the co-main event of Sunday’s UFC on ESPN in a back-and-forth three-round affair.
Despite an earlier update from his manager
According to an ESPN report, Felder is anticipated to be discharged next week if the surgery goes well as updated by Butler. The manager added that the UFC is currently working on bringing his family from Philadelphia to be with the welterweight fighter.

However, given the surgery, it looks like Felder has to delay the beer for a little while. “I got two lungs… I just want a beer for shitshake,” he wrote on Twitter.
