More Trouble Awaits Nick Diaz
It seems like more salts have been rubbed to Nick Diaz’s wound.
The controversial MMA fighter faces two new felony charges in his ongoing domestic violence case.
The prosecutors from Clark County District Attorney’s Office in Las Vegas, Nevada amended a complaint and filed two more charges against Diaz for his misdemeanour and abuse.
The two cases include felony battery constituting domestic violence by strangulation and felony battery domestic violence resulting in substantial bodily harm. The 34-year old fighter now has to clear himself from four total charges. Previously, Diaz faced charges on domestic violence and misdemeanour domestic battery.
Nick Diaz Denies Accusations Against Him
A spokesperson of the district attorney announced:
“Due to additional information received, an amended criminal complaint was filed today adding two felony charges.”
Diaz’s lawyer, Ross Goodman, expressed their surprise about the decision, considering the inconsistencies in the allegations.
“We were surprised that the State filed an amended complaint in court this morning given that there is no new evidence that would warrant adding charges.”
Despite all allegations, Goodman is confident that Diaz will surpass these battles.
“Regardless, we are confident that the truth will come to light vindicating Mr. Diaz after a thorough cross-examination exposing [the alleged victim’s] inconsistent and contradictory allegations.”
Diaz has settled a bail amounting to $18 000 to remain free. His camp has requested to increase the bail to $100000. Unfortunately, it was denied in the previous hearing last June. The hearing will resume this July 31 at 1pm.
Meanwhile, the American fighter and promoter has denied all accusations against him.
In an interview with TMZ sports, Diaz shared his thoughts about the issues.
