No matter how ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ believes he deserves to have a rematch with Daniel Cormier, ‘DC’ is already eyeing Brock Lesnar for the title shot.
Maybe it’s time for Miocic to go back in the Octagon, but not with Cormier this time. The UFC officially offers Stipe Miocic a return fight.
But the question is, with whom?
Miocic Is Back, but Who Will He Fight Next?
Okay, we get it. DC will only fight Miocic again if Lesnar won’t pass USADA’s test. Owing to the fact that the majority thinks he deserves it either way.
Now that Cormier is probably preparing for his fight against Lesnar, the UFC hasn’t announced anything about the rematch yet and neither of the two has confirmed it.
It seems DC vs Lesnar will happen anyway and it is expected to take place early next year. But Miocic’s UFC career won’t stop there as the UFC is now apparently offering him a fight against the rising Curtis Blaydes.
Stipe Miocic and Curtis Blaydes both believe they deserve title shots in the UFC heavyweight division, but Brock Lesnar made their dreams impossible to be next in line.
Blaydes Calls out Miocic
According to Blaydes, the next best thing would be to pair up him and former champ Miocic and see who’s the best fit to challenge the winner of champion DC vs Lesnar. Blaydes told BloodyElbow.com that sitting out until Cormier vs Lesnar was in the past was a realistic option, but ultimately, it seems he plans to get back into the Octagon once more before challenging for UFC gold.

Curtis “Razor” Blaydes called out Miocic for the upcoming UFC Fight Night 139 card in Denver through his Twitter account.
I understand you’ve been offered the fight, I hope you can accept. @stipemiocic @ufc @mataleongmt I think it’d be a great edition to the 25th anniversary card #ufcdenver #heavyweightTings #letsscrap #keepingtherazorsharp #letsputonashow

“I appreciate all you taught me five years ago, it was an honour to be part of your camp,” Blaydes told Miocic on Twitter. “With the current situation, I’m sure we don’t want to wait until spring, are you free 11/10 for the 25th-anniversary card?”
Blaydes was supposed to meet the Ohio native for the title shot next year. Not until the UFC has given Miocic a return fight and now Blaydes is calling him out for UFC Denver.
Miocic has yet to respond to Blaydes. After losing to Cormier in July, he said he doesn’t plan on accepting a non-title fight.
UFC Night 139
With the record for most consecutive title defences that has Miocic accomplished, even the UFC commentator, Joe Rogan, thinks why Miocic deserves a rematch with DC.
The UFC Fight Night 139 will take place at the Pepsi Center on November 10. Frankie Edgar vs. Chan Sung Jung is set to headline the event.
What do you think about this matchup? Will you look forward to Miocic vs Blaydes?
