After Daniel Cormier won over Stipe Miocic by knockout, he called out Brock Lesnar, who was sitting on the cage side.
“There’s a guy that I’ve known for a long time,” Cormier said. “He’s a wrestler; he’s an All-American, he’s a former UFC champion. I never thought I would fight him, but Brock Lesnar get your ass in here.”
Lesnar was smiling as he approached the stage, but to everyone’s surprise, he shoved Cormier in the chest as he got close.
When Lesnar got a hold of the microphone, he expressed an aggressive statement at the UFC heavyweight division saying,
“Let me tell you something! I walked into this building and watched the heavyweight disasters from the beginning. Ngannou’s a piece of sh**. Miocic is a piece of sh**. D.C., I’m coming for you m*th**f***er!”
Miocic Doesn’t Care About Lesnar
Miocic openly admits that he accepts his loss over DC. He said to the media that he has “no excuses” on failing to defend the heavyweight champ title. He just lost, and it’s that simple.
The former heavyweight champion repeatedly says that it wasn’t his night and Cormier gave a good fight.
During the UFC 226 post-fight media scrum Miocic was asked about his opinion on what Lesnar said about him in the Octagon. He replied,
“I don’t care. I don’t care about what Brock says. I’m going home. I’m going to go see my wife who is going to have my child. Those are the two most important things, my wife and my child. That’s all I care about.”
“It wasn’t my night. I care about this more than anything, but at the end of the day there’s more than just fighting.”
With regards to the upcoming bout between Lesnar and Cormier, Miocic says he doesn’t care about who wins the fight.
Miocic is open for a rematch, but right now, he wants to focus on his family, especially with the birth of his first child.
