Former UFC women’s bantamweight champ Miesha Tate inks a contract with ONE Championship; not as a fighter but as the promotion’s Vice President.
With still the general details at hand, ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong took to Twitter a huge announcement about the former UFC star. The chief officer confirmed Tate’s leap to his promotion to come aboard their executive team.
Sityodtong welcomed the women’s champion on social media writing:
“Please join me in welcoming my good friend @MieshaTate to @ONEChampionship! She is one of the greatest female mixed martial artists in history. Above all, she has a heart of gold. Miesha will be moving to Singapore in early 2019 to join us as a Vice President. #WeAreONE”

The CEO later reiterated the announcement on a press release, stating the 32-year-old’s contribution to the sport and in inspiring people. Sityodtong enumerated her characteristics and why she best fits the executive rank.
“It is both an honour and a privilege to announce that women’s mixed martial arts world champion Miesha Tate will be joining ONE Championship as Vice President.”
“Miesha has been an incredible pioneer for the sport and has been an inspiration for many young men and women. What impresses me most about Miesha is her humility, compassion, honour, and respect.”
“Throughout her career, Miesha has always exemplified the deep-rooted martial arts values of integrity, humility, honour, respect, courage, discipline, and compassion. Not only is she a good friend, but I am proud to have her represent ONE Championship on a global scale.”
“I look forward to welcoming Miesha to her new home in Singapore.”
The move followed a series of huge acquisitions from the Asian promotion, signing former UFC champions Demetrious Johnson and Eddie Alvarez to absolute deals. The female athlete also expressed how honoured she is to partake in the goals of the martials arts company.
