A violent one-punch attack has left an unknown man unconscious on the sidewalk in southeast Melbourne suburb. The victim, who was just walking on a footpath, did not expect that an ordinary night will turn into an instant nightmare.
The 43-year old victim was walking in one of the Frankton’s busiest high way last Thursday. He was making his way towards three other men on the sidewalk when one of them launched a massive swing at him, which knocked him down to the ground.
Caught in the Cam
The scene was recorded in a CCTV and was uploaded by the Victoria Police in an attempt to identify the suspect.
In the video, the man in a grey hoodie was all alone that night while the suspect was with his brothers. They had probably talked about the attack right before they came close to the man.
As he reached near the three guys, the man on the rightmost staged an unprovoked attack, pulling off a brutal punch against the victim.
The victim lost his consciousness but was able to regain it after a few seconds. He was left on the sidewalk with his head in his hands as he tried to find out where the three men were heading.
The two other men, meanwhile, had no participation in the violent attack. But they looked aware that it was going to happen.
As they walked past the victim, they looked unbothered while one of them had the guts to laugh at the situation.
According to the authorities, the victim suffered broken dentures from the assault. They have also identified the suspect as Ryan Wells and sued him for intentionally causing an injury.
