Khabib Disagrees With Dustin Poirier’s Win Over Max Holloway

Reigning lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov thinks the UFC 236 main event fight should have ended in a different way.

The 30-year old fighter has immediately called out Khabib after scoring the biggest win of his career.

Khabib has yet to respond from this challenge, but he has taken to social media to give his own scores on the epic fight.

Dream State

The UFC 236 provided fireworks on Saturday night as the fight card delivered plenty of great fights.

The main event concluded the night of MMA extravaganza on a high note as Poirier and Holloway went to an epic five-round war.

When the dust settled, it was the American mixed martial artist who emerged victorious as he has done damage to his opponent enough for a 49-46, 49-46, 49-46 unanimous decision win.

“The Diamond” has hailed himself for overwhelming a UFC champ before calling out Nurmagomedov to a fight.

It’s A Draw For Khabib

While some fans have lauded Poirier for proving that he is a legit contender for the 155-pound  throne, one man doesn’t believe neither him or Holloway deserved to win.

The undefeated lightweight champ took to Twitter and shared his thoughts about the outcome of the fight.

He believed it should have ended in a draw-contest, though he did not miss Poirier’s impressive rise to the top.

“I don’t agree with the judges 49:46, I got a draw, my respect to both fighters, and Poirier’s achievement so far cannot be denied, my congratulations Dustin, see you in September.”

Khabib’s suspension from fighting will end this July while his return to the cage in September is almost a certainty. He also declared that the unification title bout might happen in the Middle East.

Nurmagomedov remains undefeated in 27 pro MMA fights. His most recent win was against Conor McGregor at UFC 229.

Known as the best grappler in the UFC, Khabib’s mettle will be put into test once again when he faces Poirier for the undisputed title.
