UFC welterweight contender Jorge ‘Gamebred’ Masvidal has joined the growing list of mixed martial artists who express interest in locking horns with Conor McGregor for a guaranteed red panty night.
‘Gamebred’ made jaws drop last week after a scintillating performance against Ben Askren at the stacked UFC 239 fight card.
As promised, Masvidal gave the former ONE Championship and Bellator standout a painful and brutal ending.
Masvidal immediately went for a flying knee to counter his opponent’s attempt for a double leg takedown in the opening round.
The vicious flying knee took Askren’s soul out of his body, leaving him on the mat unconscious for a moment, which stunned the mammoth crowd at the T-mobile Arena.
But the fight did not end there.
Masvidal made sure Askren would not come back from the dead as he followed it up with a two-piece combo punch before the referee called for the stoppage.
The conclusion of the fight had Masvidal rewriting the history books as he recorded the fastest knockout in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The historic knockout earned Masvidal the Performance of the Night honours for a $50 000 bonus while dealing Askren the first-ever defeat in his professional MMA career.
More importantly, it puts him in the best position to get a crack at the welterweight championship against reigning champion, Kamaru Usman.
Usman became the first African born UFC champion after dethroning Tyron Woodley at UFC 235 last March.
His first title defence is not yet set as the African champ is still recovering from an injury.
After climbing up in the rankings, Masvidal now wants to challenge Usman for the welterweight belt.
“Definitely the title, definitely Kamaru Usman interests me,” he told The Dan LeBatard Show, per MMA Fighting.
“He’s got the title and that’s what I want but he’s always having injuries and things are happening.”

But if Usman does not recover in time, another option for ‘Gamebred’ is a money fight with the UFC’s biggest draw, McGregor, which he believes the fans would really want.
“Another guy that interests me because it’s just a fight that if we made it, it’s going to sell a lot and I’m going to get the money that I deserve and you can see you put me in there in a fight and I’m going to fight.”
“I’m going to give you what the fans. I’ve never pulled out of a fight.”
Should this match-up come to light, Masvidal vows to destroy the Irishman’s face to earn the paycheck he deserves.
“I want [Conor] McGregor. I want to break his face. I think that’s an easy paycheck.”
“He’s got these cash symbols written all over his face for me. I just don’t see it going his way if I’m honest with you.”

“It just means more money, more fans and then fight for the title. Either one of them makes sense to me,” Masvidal ended.
