A pair of title fights is set to headline UFC 239.
Jon Jones will return to actions this July after his first successful title defence earlier this month. He outclassed Anthony Smith in the main event of the stacked UFC 235 to retain the light heavyweight championship.
It was his first winning streak since his victory over Daniel Cormier in 2017 ago was overturned to a no-contest after testing positive to a banned substance. Jones reclaimed the 205-pound throne last December in his rematch with old rival, Alexander Gustafsson.
“Bones” has shown that he is still on top of his game despite being sidelined for a long time. On July 6, he will march on another title retention bid that would solidify his legacy as one of the greatest of all-time.
Also slated to provide big lights is two-weight champ, Amanda Nunes. She will put her bantamweight strap on the line against a former champion in the co-main event.

Jones Vs Santos
Jon Jones had another busy day in the office after scoring an easy win over Anthony Smith in the main event of UFC 235 last March 2.
“Bones” avoided complacency and dominated his challenger through five rounds en route to a unanimous decision victory, as ringside judges all scored 48-44 in favour of him.
Following this emphatic victory, UFC President Dana White is already setting his sights on who’s next for the MMA GOAT.
In the post-fight press conference, he said that he wants to see Jones squares off with Thiago Santos for his next outing. The Brazilian has called out the reigning champ after a massive upset against Jan Blachowicz at UFC Prague.
On Thursday, White confirmed that a light heavyweight title fight featuring Jones and Santos would headline the next pay-per-view event this July.
Jones has claimed before that he is ready to take on any fighter, saying he is not in the position to deny people of an opportunity at a world title. (Quotes from MMA Junkie)
“Whoever it may be, I’m ready to take them all. I think all these younger fighters should get their opportunity at a world title. When you’re sitting in my position, it’s like, who am I to deny people?
“At the end of the day, I feel like this is my time, my era, and I was meant to be here to be a great, great champion. This belt here is supposed to be covered in red rubies.
And I got a new challenge to get this thing covered in red rubies – and that means I got to beat a lot of ass, and I’m up for the challenge.”

Nunes Vs Holm
Amanda Nunes will co-headline the event opposite former champion Holly Holm for the bantamweight strap.
The two-division champion was coming off a historic win over Cris Cyborg in her move to the featherweight class in December.
Nunes made quick work of the most dominant fighter in women’s MMA as she finished the featherweight champion in just 51 seconds to become the third fighter in the promotion to hold two different belts simultaneously, joining the ranks of two-division champs, Conor McGregor and Daniel Cormier.
Holm, meanwhile, last fought in June and earned a decision win against Megan Anderson.
UFC 239 is set to take place at the T-mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 6.
Who do you think will win these title bouts? Can Jones and Nunes defend their respective belts?
