After becoming the first women’s ‘champ-champ’, Nunes explained how she thought everything on that fight happened in her favour. At the post-fight conference, the UFC titleholder revealed her experience before the match.
“When I was in Vegas, my sinusitis was pretty bad. The whole week, I look at (fiance and fellow UFC fighter Nina Ansaroff) like, ‘This is crazy. Again, no. We have to do something about that. We have to talk to USADA to see a medicine because I can’t fight like that.’ My head was crazy.”
“Then, when I wake up, the fight is going to move to L.A. I have to go to a better climate, you know? When I saw that, I say like ’Everything is in my favour.’ Even that. Like, move the whole card? This is amazing. And I was very happy.”
Not My Day
Cyborg, on the other hand, couldn’t be put aside for this loss alone since she hadn’t tasted defeat since 2005. It is also the first knockout in the former Strikeforce, Invicta FC, and former UFC featherweight champion’s 18-year career.
In the post-fight presser, Cyborg humbly accepted that it wasn’t her night and will still continue fighting her heart out for the fans.
Rogan, as we all know, is very passionate about combat sports. The American stand-up comedian’s reactions at Nunes’ win on December 30 makes it surely one of the greatest finishes in MMA.
