You Did Not Win
However, it was a bitter night for the bantamweight champion who believed that the referee stopped the fight too early. After Dillashaw was dropped at the 32-second mark of the opening round, the fight was called off and Cejudo was announced the winner.
A helpless Dillashaw received a flurry of punches from Cejudo in the first round of their Fight Night 143 headliner. Despite this, the result became the subject of debate among MMA fans since many think the losing fighter should have been given the chance to continue the fight.
Dillashaw made it to the post-fight presscon with tears in his eyes, turning thumbs down to the alleged ‘too early stoppage.’
