Last month, the most prestigious mixed martial arts promotion in Europe, Poland’s Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki, has officially added actor and professional bodybuilder Martyn Ford to its roster. The 320-pound monster will make his debut early next year and he is leaving no stones unturned in his quest for MMA glory.
The 36-year old giant appeared at KSW 45 in Wembley to announce his signing with the Polish promotion and confirmed that he will see action in early 2019. Known for his competitive spirit, Ford is wasting no time in getting the best shape for his first professional fight.
Recently, Ford has been training purely MMA as he seriously worked on his Muay Thai and boxing skills. But last week, the 6-foot-8 pagoda took a time off from combat sports to work on his power and performance with no less than former World’s Strongest Man, Eddie Hall, calling the shots.
Ford has been vocal about his preparation for his upcoming debut in the Polish MMA organization. Fans get to see how passionate he is on this journey as he has been consistently posting videos of his training sessions on social media. He is showing notable improvements day by day and is looking sharper and quicker than ever.
The latest update was his training with elite bodybuilder Hall, who worked on Martyn’s power and performance. Eddie once captured the World Strongest Man accolade so he can help the bodybuilder adjust with his training regime as Ford needs to slim down to enhance his quickness and flexibility.
Watch these two video clips of Ford grinding it out with Hall:
“Had an amazing session with @eddiehallwsm working on power and performance.”
“That stupid moment in life where you decide… MMMM I know, I haven’t done any bodybuilding training now for 5-6 wks, focusing purely on MMA, body weight and fitness work ….. so I’ll give my pal @eddiehallwsm a call and see if he fancies doing legs for fun 😂😂😂 what a twat move that was 🙈🙈🙈 needless to say I won’t be making that mistake twice lol.”
The 36-year old British actor will be needing all the help he can get from Hall as his first assignment could be Mariusz Pudzianowski, who is a five-time World’s Strongest Man titlist.
