There isn’t a skin problem that little aloe vera cannot solve. Aloe vera is a household name in the cosmetic industry when it comes to skin problems. Almost every body lotion contains aloe vera, and most of them contain coconut oil. And mixing them together creates a potent and powerful remedy that can be used for stretch marks. Yes, those scary and ugly stretch marks that every woman is trying to cover in her life.
When used on her own, aloe vera and the gel from the leaves treats sunburns, soothes irritated skin, helps with skin allergies, hydrates and rejuvenates the skin and helps with acne, scars, aging spots, and yes, stretch marks.
Coconut oil, on its own, is a natural moisturizer that helps prevent skin aging and is commonly used as a lotion for dry skin. Coconut oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties, keeping our skin healthy, shiny and providing natural glow.
For this simple and effective remedy, you need the following ingredients:
- ½ cup of organic coconut oil in solid form
- Several aloe vera leaves or the gel from them
- Few drops of essential oil of your choosing, lavender and rose being the best
The preparation process starts by combining aloe vera gel and coconut oil in a bowl. Mix for 10 minutes, or until you get thick cream with a bright colour. At this point, add essential oil and continue mixing for 60 seconds for the gel to soak up the essential oil. Transfer the cream into a glass container, cover with a lid, and store it at room temperature.
You can apply the cream on your skin the same way you do with any other body lotion. For best results, apply the lotion after showering, once the heat has opened up your pores and your skin is moist.
