WATCH: Rare Question Mark Kick Knocks Former Olympian Out Cold

Poland’s premier mixed martial arts competition, KSW, returned to actions last weekend, and it was nothing short of spectacular.

Headlining the event, which is known as KSW 47: The X- Warriors, was a title bout between the heavyweight pair of Phil De Fries and Tomasz Narkun.

All eyes were also in the intriguing clash hyped as the “the most powerful fight in MMA” featuring five-time Wolrd’s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski against the debuting Olympic gold medalist, Szymon Kolecki.

But if there was a scene stealer in this card, that would be none other than Aleksandar Ilic, who delivered a knockout of the year performance against Damian Janikowski in a middleweight bout.

Janikowski, who was trying to bounce back from his first career loss, was finished with a devastating question mark kick in the third round, which gave Ilic his fifth straight victory and his third knockout win in his last five outings.

Knockout Of The Year Contender

Middleweight prospect Aleksandar Ilic made his highly-awaited debut in the KSW cage last Saturday at KSW 47 in Lodz, Poland.

It was a night to remember for the native of Belgrade, Serbia as he overcame a slow start and a homecourt disadvantage as he demolished his Polish opponent with a potential knockout of the year contender.

Janikowksi, who was coming off a loss to Michal Materla – the first in his career – was almost on the brink of returning to the win column until “Joker” connected with a brutal head kick 32 seconds into the third round.

Ilic silenced the home crowd after he sent Janikowski down to the canvas with that powerful question mark kick, which gave him his second straight defeat.

In the main event, De Fries brought his opponent to the clinic, dishing out a masterful performance, to win the heavyweight title.

The headlining fight also drew laughter from the crowd after Narkun accidentally pulled down De Fries’ pants.

Meanwhile, the much-hyped strongman clash between Pudzianowski and Kolecki had an anti-climactic ending as the former World’s Strongest Man absorbed a TKO loss after he sustained a groin injury late in the first round.
