Here’s Why Fans Are Worried For Deontay Wilder’s Health Against Tyson Fury

On December 1, the biggest boxing showdown of the year will unfold at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The undefeated and reigning WBC heavyweight titlist Deontay Wilder will try to protect his belt against also-undefeated Tyson Fury.

Both heavyweights have each claimed that they will come out with the victory, although it was the defending champion who is billed as the favourite to win the match. But ahead of their gigantic clash, fans have expressed their concern on Wilder’s sloppy boxing fundamentals. Can Fury take advantage of this unorthodox fighting style?

“The Best In The World”

The 33-year old Wilder currently holds a flawless 40-0 win-loss card, 39 of those wins coming off a knockout. He captured the WBC heavyweight title on January 2015 against Haitian-Canadian opponent Bermane Stiverne in the lone unanimous decision win of his career, to become the first Amercian heavyweight champ in nine years. The past seven title-defense bouts were a success for Wilder. But many boxing pundits were still not impressed with the way he fights.

His next assignment would be no easy opponent. Just like him, the 30-year old Fury is undefeated and has won his last two outings after returning in the boxing scene following a two-year layoff. But Wilder is confident that he is the better fighter compared to his challenger.

“I’m feeling wonderful. My mindset and body have changed. I don’t want anyone to ask me about Anthony Joshua. He was a coward and that’s that. I don’t have a message to Anthony Joshua, it’s all about Tyson Fury. I feel like a killer. I’m transformed into a killer. Nothing at all that concerns me or scares me about Fury. I’m the best in the world.”

While Wilder considered himself as the best in the world, some boxing fans have questioned the skill sets he brings in the ring. This video below is a testament to his sloppy fighting style and fans are not pleased.

One fan wrote: “The last thing I want to do is hate on anyone man but I don’t understand how people think this guy is good. He has ferocious power, maybe the most powerful puncher in boxing, but he’s just not skilled at all”

While another claimed: “He is literally THE BEST BUM TO EVER BECOME CHAMPION! 😂 PRICELESS”

And for the best comment: “This man is abusing the lovely sport of boxing.”

Will Tyson Fury finally solve the Deontay Wilder riddle? Or will “The Bronze Bomber” prove once again that power topples skills? Two giants with different strengths. One relies on power while the other banks on skills. This should be a good match-up and we all can’t wait for December 1 to come.
