In case you missed the biggest sports news of the day, the undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather will be making his comeback later this year.
Rizin Fighting Federation announced this morning that the boxing legend will be locking horns with the Japanese kickboxing juggernaut Tenshin Nasukawa in the headliner of Rizin 14 on December 31 in Saitama, Japan.
The announcement caught the MMA world off guard as some big names in the Ultimate Fighting Championship have been challenging him to a fight but Mayweather shockingly agreed to make his MMA debut under a different promotion. There was, however, an important piece missing from the announcement – the rules of the fight – which left a huge room for confusion.

In a fight dubbed as the “Super Challenge,” Mayweather will try his might against the kickboxing phenom Nasukawa. The 20-year old phenom is no easy opponent. He boasts a perfect 27-0 win-loss kickboxing record, with his last win coming at the expense of former UFC flyweight title challenger Kyoji Horiguchi at Rizin FF 13. Meanwhile,
Mayweather last competed professionally on August 2017, where he knocked out his bitter rival Conor McGregor in the 10th round of their boxing match.
As for his upcoming fight with his Japanese foe, the promoter mentioned that there will be “special rules” but it is not yet clear whether they will compete in MMA, kickboxing, or boxing. Would grappling be allowed? Can they use knees and kicks? What type of gloves are they gonna wear?
These are some of the questions from combat sports fans as they were thrown into a state of confusion after the announcement. Check out some of the most confused reactions from Reddit users regarding the Mayweather vs Nasukawa fight.
