Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has built a successful career in WWE, however, we may never see him wrestle again.
But, his teenage daughter seems to be interested in upholding the legacy of the Johnsons. She might take the footsteps of her father, and grandfather, Rocky Johnson, who is also a WWE Hall of Famer.
Just recently, The Rock appeared on Good Morning America to promote his new movie, Skyscraper.
On the show, he revealed that his teenage daughter, Simone, wants to become a WWE Superstar someday. Johnson was asked if he thinks his 16-year old daughter will follow in his footsteps.
“Yeah, here’s the crazy thing with my daughter, Simone, she’s so smart, she’s going into her senior year, she signed with IMG as a model, [and was a] Golden Globes Ambassador,” he answered. “Simon is working so hard – and her work has already started – she wants to be a WWE Wrestler.”
How does The Rock feel about his daughter’s ambition?
Well, he thinks that Simone will become a WWE champ someday.
“I love the idea. We had this big conversation, she came with me to Hong Kong [and] Beijing. I said, ‘Honey, whatever your passion is, I support that,”
“And wrestling was good to me, I started my career in Madison Square Garden. So, yeah, bring it on, she’s going to be a champ.”
The Rock’s mother, Ata Johnson, was in the crowd watching GMA and hosts asked about her opinion on this matter.
The proud grandmother totally agreed and said, “She will lay the smack down,” referring to The Rock’s famous catchphrase.
