Here’s what a cowboy does when he’s not fighting.
Donald Cerrone’s name was not written at the UFC 234 fight card but he was able to make noise at the sidelines of the promotion’s pay-per-view event. ‘Cowboy’ took part in the Australian festivities after chugging a bear out of a boot with Tai Tuivasa at Rod Laver Arena.
Still Got It
Cerrone is riding a two-fight winning streak and is rumoured to meet Conor McGregor at the opposite end of the Octagon soon. He has also brought a younger opponent, Alex Hernandez, to school with a second-round stoppage at Fight Night 143 in Brooklyn last month.
After making a successful return in the 155-lb division, “Cowboy” sees a fight against “The Notorious” more of a reality in a bid to get a crack at the UFC gold. In fact, the 35-year-old hinted in a recent post that he may be fighting the Irishman for the interim title.
And while the native of Colorado is still waiting to book his next fight, Cerrone amplified the fans’ entertainment with a ‘shoey’ outside the Octagon. He and UFC heavyweight Tuivasa chugged beer out of one of his cowboy shoes to the audience’s delight at UFC 234.
Right Out of Cowboy’s Boot
“Well, Donald Cowboy Cerrone has had a lot of fun here during fight week. And there he is with heavyweight contender Tai Tuivasa. Cerrone doing a shoey on pay-per-view, that’s worth $60 alone!” the UFC announcer exclaimed while the show is unfolding before his eyes.
