Recently I wrote about DIY projects for making your kitchen more organized and functional. I’ve also given you some ideas for getting rid of clutter in your garage. Now, I would love to share with you some DIY projects that will help you decorate your home, make it more beautiful and unique. As always, they are easy, simple, and kids-friendly. Let’s start.
For those of you that love flowers, I’ve got a girly idea for a mirror. It will take you 10 minutes at most, and the result is fun and interesting small mirror that you can hang in your room, or in your hallway area.
I am sure you have several old books in your home that are just sitting there with no purpose. I’ve got tons of books. I’ve read almost all of them, and after a while, some of my books are just sitting in my library with no purpose. I’ve came across this project, so I decided to give my books new life and new meaning and purpose. Take a look.
Perfect for homes that need more of an urban vibe in the living area. In the same time, you get some of the nature in your home, and as you know, Scandinavian style is a big hit in the past few years. So give it a try. Just make sure to use fallen trees, don’t cut trees just for the purpose of your chandelier.
I have friends that just love sea, water, swimming, and so on. To be honest, I love nautical style as well. While nautical designs were big hit two to three years ago, they are nowhere to be found lately. But that doesn’t mean you cannot try some ideas. Take this seashell for example.
You can use old and recycled fabrics, or you can find some new. And you don’t have to limit yourself to the letter A as in the example. You can come up with your own letter, one that has meaning for you. All you need is some idea, and then apply it to fit your needs.
You don’t even need to have books for these bookends to look beautiful. However, if you need something to hold your books straight, these rock accessories are more than suitable.
Some people prefer to have the “home sweet home” sign at the entrance of their home. Others, however, prefer to have it somewhere inside. And I just love the story how this guy made great use of an old and recycled picture frame. Check it out.
As I mentioned previously, I have tons of books in my home. And frankly, I don’t know what to do with them always. And I always have problems storing them, especially when I go out and buy several new books. I am already fully “booked”, so I always look for ways to find new book storages. Here is an idea worth trying.
Folding screens are super practical in your home, especially when you need to hide something like awkward vents and windows. Here is one that will come in handy for decorating your home and introducing some colors to the interior.
I cannot stress enough how mesmerized I am from this project. Ombre is definitely something that has much more wider usage than hair style, and this clock shows it. I love it, not only for my home, but as a great gift idea.
Take this situation into consideration. You buy new bed sheets, and you don’t know what to do with the old ones. Well, I’ve got an idea for you. Or, I know there are people that love their curtains to match their bed sheets, so there is another way to go through with this project.
As I mentioned in the chandelier project, please make sure to use old and fallen down trees and branches for projects like this one. It would be a shame if we destroy the nature so we can add “more nature” in our home. Now, for those of you that can find fallen branches, I love how this curtain rod gives you a more rustic and nature-like feeling the home. It completely transforms the room.
When it comes to DIY projects, I definitely love ones that help you recycle or reuse an existing object. Such is the case here, where the old lamp gets a new look. Most people throw away their lamps when they are caught up by Father time. I understand, but for those of you who don’t want to throw anything away, take a look.
Fair warning, the instructions for this project are in German. However, I am sure you will be more than able to get the project done because the pictures say it all. And in the end, you’ll get some beautiful and unique looking shelves in your living area.
One of the most favorite projects on this list has to be this terrarium side table. I just love bringing more nature in my home, especially given the fact that apartments do not allow much greenery. You’ll need more supplies than you usually need for DIY project, and the price is tad higher, but the result is astonishing.
I have a friend that loves pillows. Every time we go to a furniture store that has pillows, she gets one or two. She ends up with several pillows at home, and most of those pillows are ruined because of dust and Father time doing his thing. I suggested this project to her, and she cannot be more thankful. Now, her pillows got a second chance for life.
Now this is something I will definitely give as a gift to some of my friends. Personally, I am not much into Instagram, as I love Pinterest more. But I have friends that literally put everything on Instagram. This gift will come in handy for such friends and their birthdays.
Photographing resins is a challenge. But making an art masterpiece with resin is even harder and more challenging. But I have no doubt in my mind you can do it. Definitely a unique piece.
Another project that is perfect for gift giving, as well as family time with the kids. You can choose any color you like, and your kids can make their own candles. And then, in the night, you can light up those candles for some romantic ambience in your home, or to have fun with your kids under a blanket.
Nowadays, most furniture pieces like sofa, chairs, armchairs, and similar come in monochromatic colors. I have nothing against monochromatic colors, but every now and then, I love more interesting interior design. And for that purpose, I love adding patterns and colors. This project combines the two into beautiful topping for your monochromatic furniture.
10 minutes. That is all it takes to make this embroidery hoop yarn wall hanging project. And you’ll get a unique piece that is versatile in colors (you can use any color you like) to fit your interior.
I know people are usually afraid of the complexity of projects involving copper pipe. In reality, using a copper pipe is as easy as saying crackers. What I love about this project is that the table gives two or three spots for placing your flowerpots.
Going back to the nautical theme for your home interior design, I’ve got another project that you might like. This one is more suitable for kid’s room, but you can use it in your bedroom or living room as well. It all depends how young and free your spirit is.
Paper flowers, what a romantic way to decorate a room. I love when someone gives me paper flowers. Despite my love for fresh flowers, paper flowers show effort and willingness to go above and beyond. And that is exactly what this project will require you to do. For a young daughter, the paper flowers will be perfect.
Some people hate table runners, some people love them. In my experience, they are practical, as they help you avoid some stains and ease up your cleaning. This table runner can be made completely without sewing, and you’ll need only one white burlap and some paint.
I love wine. And over the years, I’ve received few wine crates as gift. Once the wine is gone, I usually wonder what to do with the crates. I hate throwing stuff away as you know, but I had to. Sadly, I didn’t know this project earlier in my life. But you have that luxury now, and you can find some use for old wine crates. Or, you can go buy some wine and then use the wine crates.
You have an empty white or gray wall just waiting for some decoration? I’ve got the idea to help you.
I love this project. It gives such a warm and summer vibe to your apartment, and keeps your candles in safe place.
I have few friends that just cannot find a good fluffy shaggy white rug. They’ve looked everywhere. And they just can’t find the right fit for them. And then I suggested something out of the box. Why don’t you make one? Take a look at this project, perfect if you are also struggling to find a good fluffy rug.
Oh my god, how I love scrabble. Arguably one of the best social games for people 5 to 55 years old. Once I saw this project, the first thought on my mind was “I am not giving my scrabble tiles”. But then I remembered I can buy new tiles. And the vase is definitely visually appealing and mesmerizing.
