Daniel Cormier Reacts To Jon Jones Savaging Alexander Gustfasson

Jon Jones just put a perfect ending to a week that has been battered with controversy. “Bones” essayed a third-round technical knockout victory over Alexander Gustafsson to reclaim the UFC light heavyweight championship on Saturday night.

DC Reacts To Jon Jones’ Recent Win

Jones and Gustafsson tussled in the main event of the UFC 232 at The Forum in Inglewood, California and unlike their first meeting, their rematch did not go the distance as Jones’ ground and pound gave the victory for the returning fighter.

But if there is one person who is not a fan of Jones’ recent win, that is his long-time rival, Daniel Cormier. The former champ-champ immediately took to Twitter and fired a shot on the controversial light-heavyweight kingpin after his triumphant outing at UFC 232. Check out DC’s reaction to Jones’ win over Gustafsson in the post below:

A week before “Bones” reclaimed the light heavyweight championship, he tested positive to a small trace of Turinabol, the same substance that caused his 15-month suspension. DC also chimed in this issue and has been savaging Jones on social media.

The incident forced the promotion to move the venue of its year-end offering to California, who gave Jones a temporary license to compete again.  When the dust settled, it was Jones who came out on top once again after he reasserted his mastery over Gustafsson in their highly-anticipated rematch.

Jones Has A Message To DC

Jones and DC already met twice in the Octagon, with the former prevailing on both occasions. However, Jones’s victory at UFC 214 in 2017 was overturned to a no-contest after he tested positive to the banned substance. Since then, he has been sidelined for more than a year while his rival went on to snatch the heavyweight championship from Stipe Miocic.

Now that he has reclaimed the throne, Jones has a stern warning for his bitter rival. In a post-fight interview, Jones warned the current heavyweight champ that he is now home, a sign that he is ready to take on DC for the third time.

Will the UFC stage a trilogy for the Jones vs DC rivalry?
