Daniel Cormier Says Khabib Will Get Beat Up By Floyd Mayweather

DC likes to keep it real.

While Daniel Cormier was all praise for Khabib Nurmagomedov after his dominant win over Conor McGregor at UFC 229, the former double champ was not a fan of the Russian champ’s idea of locking horns with Floyd Mayweather in a fight.

The current heavyweight kingpin recently appeared on Ariel Helwani’s MMA show and gave his take on the potential Nurmagomedov-Mayweather bout.

    Challenge Accepted

A video of the Dagestan pride surfaced on Sunday challenging the undisputed boxing champ in a fight. Both Khabib and Floyd carry an immaculate record in their respective sport. ‘The Eagle’ has already collected 27 wins in his professional MMA career while ‘Money’ remained unscathed with a 50-0 slate in boxing.

“Let’s go, Floyd. We have to fight now. 50-0 vs 27-0, two guys who never lose, why not?Because in the jungle there is only one king. Only one king. Of course, I am the king because he could not drop McGregor and I dropped him easily. Let’s go.”

Two days after, Mayweather took to Instagram to confirm that he is not letting this opportunity slip his hands.

“CBS, Showtime and MGM Grand get the checkbook out! Go to @leonardellerbe ‘s page to view Khabib Nurmagomedov challenging me. LET’S MAKE LAS VEGAS GREAT AGAIN!”

However, Nurmagomedov does not want to make a comeback in Las Vegas because of his issue with the Nevada Athletic State Commission withholding his $2 million purse from his UFC 229 fight.

    A Laughing Matter

The least DC could do about Khabib wanting to take on one of the best athletes to set foot in the boxing ring was to laugh on the whole idea.

They may be both training under the American Kickboxing Academy, but the heavyweight champ did not show love for his teammate when asked about his opinion on the potential match-up.

“Khabib better not try to box him. Khabib better not try to box Floyd Mayweather. What is he doing, man?” he jokingly asked.

DC assured that the reigning lightweight champ would suffer a serious beating from the boxing GOAT.

“Unless he’s just going to go do it for money because he is going to get beat. I love Khabib man but he is going to get beat up by Floyd Mayweather.”

Finally, Cormier opened the possibility of Khabib showing his wrestling skills once he gets pounded by his opponent.

“He’s crazy. He is going to start wrestling. Khabib is going to start wrestling in the boxing ring. He’s going to get beat so bad he is going to start wrestling.”

Nurmagomedov has issued an ultimatum that he will leave the UFC if the promotions keeps its decision to cut his teammate Zubaira Tukhugov. If this happens, will we see Khabib heading into the boxing ring to take on Mayweather?
