UFC superstar Conor McGregor can be a pretty unpredictable fighter, taking fans aback with his bus attack, whiskey campaign at a pre-fight presser and apparently another boxing match.
After swallowing a vicious loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in October, McGregor became the subject of summons for his next mixed martial arts bout. Sad enough for potential opponents, his suspension from the post-fight melee at UFC 229 put all these chances in limbo.
However, ‘The Notorious’ on Sunday hinted what sounds like one of his big announcements: returning to fighting in 2019 either in MMA or boxing. Despite losing his first boxing match to Floyd Mayweather in 2017, the Dubliner is probably trying to cross sports again.
Announcing the comeback on Twitter, the second-ranked UFC lightweight said he’s excited for next year’s return inside the ‘OctaRing,’ along with the launch of his whiskey brand in the UK and Australia.
Responding to a fan’s request for McGregor’s Proper No. Twelve distiller to be available in the UK as well as see ‘The Notorious’ fight again, he wrote:
“2019 is when we launch in the U.K and Australia!”
“2019 is when I will also be back inside the OctaRing! We are very excited! Thank you for the support brother.”

It turns out, the next opponent he’s talking about might be far from all expectations as per his latest revelation. McGregor ended his lengthy play-by-play analysis of the Khabib loss with a reassuring statement for the fans:
“It was a great fight and it was my pleasure. I will be back with my confidence high. Fully prepared.”
“If it is not the rematch right away, no problem. I will face the next in line. It’s all me always, anyway.”
