The former UFC champion recently captioned a footage of him hanging out of a car window, cheered by passers-by, with a line from The Joker. It was posted a week after he was banned from driving for six months and was fined €1000 [$1128.09] for speeding in Dublin.

With most fans failing to recognise the reference, confusion was cast upon what the Irish fighter means. In the film, The Joker is a villain being interrogated by Batman while he was delivering the line quoted in McGregor’s post.
One fan commented: “The f*** you talking about?” while another queried: “I don’t understand this post, can someone explain?” Golf superstar Rory McIlroy, on the other hand, couldn’t help but commend McGregor for the choice of reference, saying: “One of the best movies of all time!”
