As McGregor’s rematch vs Khabib Nurmagomedov becomes less and less possible, the former two-division champ has been hinting about his next move for 2019. Following a tease to enter the boxing ring in November, ‘The Notorious’ is now apparently trying to return to kingship.
See Who Reigns
Regardless, if McGregor becomes cleared to fight next year, the UFC star seems to have one plan in mind: dominate the lightweight division again. In a deleted Instagram post, ‘The Notorious’ wrote:
“The McGregor Real Round Formula. Implemented officially after Diaz I. It has stood us well.”
“Great work here ‘The Bomber’ Pascu Ion. Big solid b*****d. 2019, we will see who reigns.”
McGregor’s desire to rematch Khabib has never been a secret, but it might take a while before the matchup enters the Octagon again. The undefeated champ is also waiting to hear back from the Nevada State Athletic Commission on the verdict of his UFC 229 scuffle.
Aside from this recent tip-off,
2019 is when we launch in the U.K and Australia!
2019 is when I will also be back inside the OctaRing!
We are very excited!
Thank you for the support brother 👊 https://t.co/jVm7ujWIvq

Despite McGregor’s enthusiasm to rebound his mixed martial arts career next year, his trainer John Kavanagh
“[McGregor] has a wife and two kids now and I don’t want him taking more hits than he needs to.”
“Khabib hit him with a punch in that fight that he has never been hit with in his career. And even Superman slows down at some stage.”
