What a difference a mixed martial arts training can make!
For a gas station clerk in Texas, it is a different story.
Mayura Dissanyake works in Fuel Depot in Houston as clerk. Unknowingly, the guy is also a semi-pro in the field of mixed martial arts.
So when the going gets tough, Dissanyake showed her MMA skills against a pair of suspected robbers. He turned the tables around for the criminals who thought that they can loot money from the store.
Apparently, they ended up empty handed.
His co-worker has just returned to the store after going to the bank. The robbers attempted to steal the money bag but Dissanyake came to rescue.
Upon seeing the CCTV, he immediately went out of the store and gave his co-worker the needed help. He kicked one robber straight into the face and gave the other one a solid punch.
“I just kicked him until he lays down on the floor, until he stopped moving cause I wasn’t sure if he had a knife or a gun so I wanted him to stop moving.”
The robbers tried to return quickly to their car but the clerk continued to throw punches. He kicked another guy and knocked him down on the ground. He was later identified as Odell Mathis and was charged with robbery.
Although the driver and his partner were able to escape, customers can be still confident with the safety in the store. With Dissanyake at the helm, he can always bring his MMA skills to the table.
The former MMA artist has a more than decade of experience inside the cage. He claimed that he has lorded over the competition for five years in Sri Lanka. He was also a national champion.
