Reigning heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier has been vocal about his desire to fight pay-per-view behemoth, Brock Lesnar.
In a WWE-like encounter last year, DC met the wrestling star for the first time in the cage to plant the seed of their rivalry.
Shortly after Cormier was declared as the new 265-pound king, Lesnar stormed the cage and shoved DC before challenging him to a future fight.
‘DC’ has previously claimed that he might be fighting one last time before hanging up his gloves for good.
But with Lesnar providing no signs of a potential return and Cormier battling some health struggles, the retirement may happen at a later date.
Recently, UFC president Dana White claimed that DC has three fights left before he can finally call it quits. One of these fights is against Lesnar.
This gigantic clash has yet to be finalized, but according to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, the Nevada-based promotion is planning to stage the fight this summer.

Cormier has been campaigning for a fight with Lesnar before he retires, but the path to that showdown has been rough.
He sustained a back injury in his clash with Derrick Lewis, which prolonged his absence, while his potential opponent, Lesnar, has not yet been cleared to return.
The good thing is the UFC look serious in pursuing the heavyweight title fight, which could probably take place this August.
“The UFC wants [Lesnar] back, as of right now he wants to be back, they’re giving him a heavyweight title fight if he comes back,” Helwani stated on Sports Center, via MMA Mania.
“Daniel Cormier, the heavyweight champion, wants to fight him.”
“Right now, the plan is for them to fight in August, later this summer, for that heavyweight championship. It’s not signed just yet, but that’s currently the plan.”
It’s Going To Happen
In a recent interview, the UFC president has assured that the DC-Lesnar clash is going to happen while hoping that he will get an update from the WWE star this summer.
“One of the things about Brock Lesnar is, when that guy is ready to fight, he is not shy. He will call me and let me know.”
“And to be honest with you, I am hoping to hear from that guy this summer.”
“I think both guys really want it, Cormier wants it bad.”
“I know Cormier wants it bad, and Brock wants it bad. So when two fighters want to fight each other as bad as these two do, I think it’s going to happen.”
White also shared that it might be long before we see the last of Cormier in the Octagon as he might do it again with his former rivals.
“I think that he wants the Lesnar fight, so you make that. Stipe. People want to see the rematch with Stipe.”
“And then possibly Jon Jones again at either Heavyweight or Light Heavyweight,” White declared.
