Brendan Schaub Has No Room For Negativity
Amid a heated social media word war last week, former UFC star Brendan Schaub is taking the high road to put an end to this drama.
The Big Brown and UFC President Dana White were engaged on a scathing rebuttal on Israel Adesanya’s Instagram post. Schaub did not hold back and took his rage to Twitter to send his final warning to White.
He even called White as his ‘Eskimo brother’ – a slang used to describe two men who slept with the same woman.
On his recent episode of the Below the Belt program, Schaub went on to explain why he and his former boss traded low blows on social media. More than that, he revealed that he is very much willing to reconcile with the UFC president.
Fear is not a Good Motivator
In his podcast, he pointed out that he is not a fan of White’s promotion tactics and his harsh treatment of some UFC fighters especially Francis Ngannou.
“I can’t understand why he does this to fighters. He’s notoriously done this for years and years and years where he just talks shit about the guys. And they’re not doing well. Those guys just lost the biggest fight of their lives, they’re gonna have to pay.”
He believed that as the top official of the United Fighting Championship, he must not sow fear among his constituents.
“And they’re not feeling good about themselves and then the boss, who you’re looking for any amount of approval and it would go so far, you’re the captain of the ship, when you’re shitting on all the employees on the ship, it doesn’t make people feel good. When you try to lead by fear, it doesn’t work.”
Utilizing His Platform
As a former UFC fighter, Schaub sure knew the pain of losing. Therefore, he insisted that White should use his position to lift fighters up in times of defeats and not to bring them down further instead. The Big Brown stressed that he is ‘tired’ of this White’s antics – shaming fighters in public and engaging in heated arguments.
Having a platform like his podcast, Schaub found an opportunity to voice out his opinions about White. He said he will always use this to criticize him as long if he continues to bring fighters down.
“But if you think that with the platform I have I’m not going to criticize you for shitting on these fighters who don’t have much, financially, they don’t have a platform, they have to literally punch other men in the face to make a living. And for you to bring men and women down like that is insane. You’re never going to get a free ride here. Ever. Ever, ever, ever, for as long as I have this microphone in my face, you will always get criticized for that. Always. It’s not cool.”
Willingness to Resolve the Conflict
But after all the heated exchange, Schaub claimed that he is open for a reconciliation with his former boss.
“After all that, I still have no hate in my heart. I have zero heart towards Dana White,” Schaub said. “If he called me up right now and went, ‘Hey man, let’s stop this shit. Let’s do this.’ Cool, man. I have zero animosity.”

Finally, the Big Brown said he’s too busy for any negativity.
“I don’t have time for hate. I don’t have time to continue to f*cking come after you on social media. You asked for this. That tweet, I wrote that on a plane. It took me three minutes to knock that out. It took me three minutes. I didn’t ask for this. I don’t want this. I don’t need this negativity. I’m too busy. We both made it, everything’s all good.”
We hope that it will end well for Dana White and Brendan Schaub!
