Betting Odds Released for Conor Mcgregor’s Next Opponent

UFC’s former two-division champion Conor McGregor is now up for grabs, and fans are clamouring to see him square off against various fighters in the Octagon.

Despite absorbing a nasty fourth-round submission defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov in his much-anticipated comeback, the fact that McGregor is a high-priced fighter didn’t change. Fighting him will satisfy the purse of anyone on the roster.

Taking it from the words of former UFC middleweight kingpin Anderson Silva, the Brazilian fighter is predicting a potential bout between him and the “Notorious” to be momentous.

180 lbs Catchweight

In a recent interview, McGregor told ESPN that Silva is one of the future opponents he’d love to meet inside the cage.

“You know what would be another great one? Anderson Silva. I would be interested in an Anderson Silva bout. I swear to God. Anderson is a legend in the game. What’s the difference between him and Georges? Same damn thing. I’m going to do fights that interest me or have meaning.”

Silva immediately accepted the Irish superstar’s challenge to fight at a catchweight of 180-pounds.

“I accept the challenge for Conor McGregor. I think UFC President Dana White needs to think about this. Because it’s two big guys in this sport. Two big names – yes, absolutely, two big legends. And, why not?”

“I think 180 for me is good,” Silva suggested. “I think for Conor too. Because it’s a super fight, it’s not about weight class.”

Odds for The Notorious’ Next Opponent

However, oddsmakers don’t have Silva’s name first on the list of potential fighters for the Dubliner. Rather, McGregor’s bitter rival Nate Diaz is leading the favourites.

Nate Diaz +150
Tony Ferguson +200
Khabib Nurmagomedov +250
Anderson Silva +800
Georges St-Pierre +2000
Floyd Mayweather Jr. +5000

Nate Diaz

Former lightweight challenger Diaz says he is currently ‘on tour’ and will only backtrack once “the game mans up.” By all odds, the possibility of a lucrative trilogy bout vs McGregor would lure “The Stockton Slugger” back to the Octagon.

Aside from Diaz, McGregor sees a good deal of names for him to fight next. Initially, the former champ-champ called out Khabib for an immediate rematch.

The rest of the betting outlet’s list includes former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson, former two-division UFC champion Georges St-Pierre and undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr.
