Bodybuilding legend and seven-time Mr Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger may have now found his successor.
The veteran actor’s son, Joe Baena, has been uploading videos and photos of his training in social media and it looks like he is on his way on following his dad’s footsteps. The 21-year old could be heading to the Classic Physique division as hinted by a hashtag on his latest Instagram post.
Schwarzenegger’s Son is Ripped
Jon, who is the lovechild of Arnold and Mildred Baena, is the first of the five children to show interest on the sport, which paved the way to his father’s massive success. The 21-year old student of Pepperdine University in Malibu has been a fitness enthusiast, so it’s no surprise that he wants to pursue the same path taken by Schwarzenegger.
Baena has been sharing photos and video of his workout and training on social media, flaunting his ripped body with his spectacular delts and biceps. It looks like he is getting ready to enter the world of professional bodybuilding, though no official announcement has been made yet.
But one of his latest posts on Instagram could be providing a hint on his future in the sport. Baena used the hashtag #classicphysique on a video, along with the caption “It’s only the beginning,” probably teasing on his plans to compete in the pro ranks. Check the post below:
Classic physique is a division in Olympia, which focuses on “proportion, symmetry, pleasing lines, and a small waist or the aesthetic qualities in harmony with muscularity and condition.” In another post, Baena wrote #thereisnomagicpill and #themeccaofbodybuilding, a shade on the modern bodybuilding, which has been criticized due to steroid abuse.
Baena has a big shoes to fill in case he competes in professional bodybuilding as his father dominated the sport during its golden era. But there might be less pressure as fans have already expressed their support to the young athlete.
One fan wrote: “We the fans would love to see you become a WNBF star. In other words, a natty version of Arnold.” Another commented: “Rooting for you, Brother!!! Keep killing it!”
Meanwhile, a supporter left a good reminder: “Got the best genetics in the world. All you need is persistence.”
